Flour Power - Introduction to Bread and Pastry
A workshop for those new to bread and pastry making, giving you practical experience in baking basic breads and shortcrust pastry

Hilary will demonstrate and explain easy and effective methods of baking bread and ideas for finished savoury dishes. You will learn to judge when doughs are mixed, fermented, proved and baked. During the course you will make a filled loaf or plaits or savoury Stromboli. Whilst waiting for bread we will turn our skills to how make shortcrust pastry where we will make a quiche which will hone your skills of lining pastry cases and baking blind.

A practical course for anyone who would like to learn how to bake bread and conquer pastry from scratch. By the end of the course you will be able to bake your own breads and gain a basic understanding of how “dough” works. You will also learn how to conquer shortcrust pastry, lining a tin and baking blind. Prosp User 4
You will need to provide your own ingredients and the recipes and ingredients list will be emailed to you in the week before the course. They should cost approximately £8-£15.

We ask that you please bring your own hand sanitiser and sanitiser wipes to each session for your own personal space.
