Pilates ( Modern) - Beginners Plus/Improvers
This course is designed to build on the basic Pilates core exercises and further improve mobility and flexibility.

It will help to build inner muscle strength and endurance and improve physical ability, creating better posture and good movement quality. It will also reduce stress, help to strengthen the function of the lungs and circulation and further improve the strength of the pelvic floor muscles.

Course Outcome:
Be able to engage in a variety of exercises to improve your flexibility and core stability.

This class is suitable for those who have already experienced Pilates and wish to improve their level of technique. Prosp User 4
Please make sure you have a suitable space available to exercise in, where you will be able to see your screen easily and safely.

Please have a towel, water bottle, yoga/Pilates mat (approx £10). A pillow, stretch band, a soft ball and some small weights (approx 1lb) would also be useful. Please wear loose fitting clothing suitable for exercise and gym shoes or trainers.

This is an online course that will be delivered via Zoom, so please ensure that you can access this on the device you are using.

You will receive your Zoom login details in an email that is sent out 24 hours before the course is due to start. (Please note, if you enrol less than 24 hours before a course starts, you will receive your zoom code as soon as you enrol.) Please keep your Zoom code safe as you will need the same code for each class.

You will need to join Zoom five minutes before your session is due to start and remain in the “waiting room”. Your tutor will then admit you to the class once your session is ready to begin.

If you require help to download or use Zoom, please email ictskills@york.gov.uk at least a week before your course starts and we will endeavour to provide assistance.

Before starting any exercise programme, it’s advisable to seek advice from your GP or a health professional if you have any health concerns, such as a health condition or an injury. As we are not qualified healthcare professionals, by participating in one of our online courses you agree to take full responsibility for your own health, wellbeing and safety. If you have any health problems or difficulties that you suffer from which you feel may impact on your ability to participate in this class please email york.learning@york.gov.uk with the class you will be attending (title/code/tutor) and we will forward this onto the relevant tutor who will, if they feel it appropriate, contact you before your first class to discuss this with you.
