Singing for Fun
This course will show you how you can have fun and experience the feelgood factor of learning to sing in harmony with others!

Enjoyable, approachable sessions designed to be fun, fun, fun all the way – no matter what your age or ability! It doesn’t matter if you can’t read music or haven’t sung in years – come and join us to discover (or rediscover!) the joy of singing together in a lovely friendly and supportive group.

In our sessions, we will learn important physical and vocal warmups to look after our bodies and voices before exploring a wide repertoire of music – from popular hits to gospel songs, sea shanties and traditional tunes to songs from around the world! What you want to sing also matters to us, so there is the opportunity at the start of each term for learners to anonymously suggest several songs based on a broad theme that the tutor will then choose from to arrange for the group! Learning resources such as music notation and lyrics will be provided (and also made accessible electronically), but everything is also taught by ear for a well-rounded and completely accessible approach.

Course outcomes:
• To have a better understanding of how to look after our voices
• To broaden our singing and listening repertoire
• To successfully sing songs as a group in more than one part
• To pick up some basics about the music theory/notation that supports what we are singing
• To develop our musicality
• To grow our confidence!
