HIIT Workout
Our new Interval Training Course is designed to cater for those wanting HITT and LITT (High Intensity and Low Intensity Interval Training. With our experienced Instructor we can cater for all levels within one class helping you work at your own pace and range.

This is a hybrid course, with the option to attend at New Earswick Folk Hall in person or online via Zoom.

The course provides an opportunity to improve your overall fitness level as you enjoy a varied session which will include:
• A cardio/aerobic warm-up to lubricate the joints and elevate the heart rate;
• Interval training where you work at your own pace with exercises tailored to you;
• Strength-based exercises using your own body-weight, a band or light weights to tone and sculpt;
• Abs and Core work to define the waist and abdominal muscles.
• Stretch and Refresh to improve overall flexibility and support post-class recovery.

Modifications are shown throughout but participants will need to be comfortable working through a range of motions including forward, back, side to side, standing, seated, kneeling and lying down. Having said that, where a particular position is not suitable you will be supported with an alternative exercise.

Please bring your own water bottle. We ask that you also bring your own hand sanitiser and sanitiser wipes for your own personal space.

It is advisable to wear a supportive pair of trainers, a sports bra – if applicable, light exercise clothing and have water and a mat to hand. A resistance band or weights – even tins of beans would be fine.

As we are not qualified healthcare professionals, by participating in one of our courses you agree to take full responsibility for your own health, wellbeing and safety.

If you have any health problems or difficulties that you suffer from which you feel may impact on your ability to participate in this class please email york.learning@york.gov.uk with the class you will be attending (title/code/tutor) and we will forward this onto the relevant tutor who will, if they feel it appropriate, contact you before your first class to discuss this with you.
