Beeswax Wraps
Beeswax Wraps are a handy alternative to cling film and the next step in reducing our plastic consumption and waste.

Whilst these can be quite costly to buy, during this workshop you can make your own custom-sized wraps using simple and effective techniques which you can later replicate at home.

Using 100% cotton and 100% beeswax, these natural, antibacterial wraps are biodegradable and can be composted. They can be used for packed lunches and picnics or for storing food in the fridge.
Your friendly tutor will guide you through the process with demonstrations and advice throughout. Basic materials and equipment will be provided with additional supplies available to buy. You could even bring your own cotton fabric to upcycle such as an old shirt or duvet cover.

Materials cost an additional £5.00, and will be payable to the tutor on the day. This cost covers a starter pack of beeswax and 3 cotton pieces. If you find that you’re quite productive on the day, you can buy extra resources to make more wraps of different sizes, so please bring some extra money for additional beeswax and cotton to enable you to make a quantity of different sizes. You could even bring your own cotton fabric to upcycle such as an old shirt or duvet cover.

Please bring:
A food grater and a pair of pinking shears, if you have them.
£5.00 in cash to give to the tutor at the start of the session for the starter pack. Where possible, please bring the correct money to minimize cash handling.
Money for extra beeswax and cotton (if you decide you would like to make more wraps of different sizes).
A packed lunch and any drinks you will require.
Something to take your piece(s) home in.
Your own sanitiser wipes and hand gel.
