Acrylic Painting - Taking Inspiration from Cezanne, Matisse & Picasso
This course provides an exciting opportunity to experiment with the techniques of painting with acrylics, through exploring colour, composition, mark-making and a range of different subject matter. The course is structured into three-week projects in which we will use the art of a particular artist as a starting point to making our own artwork. We will look first at Cezanne's still life paintings, and compositional strategies. Through Picasso's work we will explore anatomy, the figure, and abstraction techniques; with Matisse, we will focus on colour and pattern.

Teaching and learning will be based on a variety of methods including tutor presentation and one-to-one personalised guidance. Learners are also encouraged to experiment and incorporate their own ideas. This is a fun opportunity to learn something about other artists, to be creative and to experiment with different drawing and painting techniques, within a relaxed and encouraging environment.
