Latin - an Introduction - continuers
Given that the learning process can go beyond a practical purpose, is Latin really a "dead" language? It is true that it is not learnt and spoken by children in schools as a first language. So, apparently, yes, it is a dead language. Nevertheless, it is certainly not extinct, as it still lives on in its Romance variations throughout the world, for example, in Italian, Spanish and French.

A basic understanding of Latin will give you the key to a better understanding of your native language, be it English or any other language, and thus to enhanced communication. You will be able to understand how a language works and therefore feel more confident when it comes to communicating a message, in written or spoken word.

In this course we will learn what nouns, adjectives, adverbs and verbs are, as well as the difference between declension and conjugation. Additionally, there are interesting sections on Roman background, culture and civilisation, so that you can see how this language was once very much alive.
