Beginners Watercolours
This course offers a beginner’s introduction to watercolour painting with step-by-step activities that you can follow at home. You will be guided through how to mix colours, how to layer colours and how to get different effects with your paints.

You will be sent reference images to work from and you tutor will give live demonstrations during the class that you can paint along with at home. You will also be introduced to techniques such as wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry.

As you develop your confidence, you can then experiment and start to explore your own ideas further.

This is suitable for those of you who have never painted with watercolours before and learners who want to refresh their skills, starting with the basics of watercolour painting. Prosp User 4
You will need your own set of watercolours (in a range of colours), a palette and round watercolour brushes. You can use a selection of brush sizes - for example a 2, 4 and 6. It is useful to have a larger brush (a 1 inch or bigger) for creating washes and a sponge for wetting your paper. You can use any watercolour paper and A4 or A3 is a good size – please have a ‘spare’ sheet of paper or sketchbook for testing colours on and making notes. Prosp User 5
