Level 2 Award - An introduction to Counselling
This 10 week course is designed to introduce you to the key concepts and ideas that underpin the counselling and helping sector. It will give you a basic understanding of the knowledge, skills and competencies required to work ethically and safely in a variety of helping roles. It is also the first step towards becoming a fully qualified counsellor within the CPCAB qualifications structure. Prosp User 3
This qualification is intended for candidates who want to:
• Learn basic counselling skills (listening and responding skills) in helping roles
• Find out more about counselling (this qualification won’t teach them to be a counsellor, but may help them decide whether or not they want to train as one);
• Improve professional and personal relationships
This qualification does not lead directly to an employed role. However, it could enhance an existing role or increase the general employability of those seeking to enter the job market. You do not need to have any prior knowledge or understanding of the counselling and helping professions to enrol on this course.
