Let's Cook - Sauces
At the hands-on workshop you will learn how to make a basic white sauce and how to adapt it to a veloute (white wine and cream) sauce and go on to use one for a double baked cheese soufflé. The tutor will explain how to make a roux for a brown sauce to accompany dark meat and you can choose to make a sweet pastry cream and turn it into a vanilla slice or to keep and use on a fresh custard trifle. The tutor will offer expert advice and give you handy tips and ideas to help you perfect your skills throughout the session. Prosp User 3
You will gain the skills and confidence to make a variety of sauces to go with most main course meats and vegetables together with a thicker sauce that can be used for a double baked cheese souffle. You will learn a quick method of white sauce in the microwave, how to make a roux and to attain the flavour in a brown sauce. You can make the dishes or watch if you don’t have time to prepare.
