DIY - Preparing & Painting Woodwork
This workshop provides an interactive beginner’s guide on how to prepare and paint the woodwork in and outside your home to perfection.
Your tutor will guide you with practical demonstrations and class discussions and answer your questions as you try the techniques involved.

Topics include what paints, tools and brushes to use, how to paint doors, skirting boards and items of furniture around your home.

This workshop is ideal for anyone who wants to learn a full range of painting skills from a qualified and time-served painter & decorator, and improve their DIY confidence. No prior knowledge is required.

You should attend the workshop with a notepad and pen, one or more scrap offcuts of wood or other board material of a suitable size for you to be able to practise some of the techniques if you wish (min size A4).
If you would also like to practise with the tutor, in real time, you will need to bring whatever paints and brushes you have available (e.g. some undercoat or primer, some gloss or satin top coat and relevant brush cleaning materials and sandpaper).
There is no need to buy additional specialist paint just for the workshop. The tutor will give full demonstrations, concentrating on relevant techniques, materials and finishes.
