German Year 4 - New year - term 2
This course is aimed at learners with at least three years of German who are looking to develop or refresh their language skills to an intermediate level, whether for work, pleasure or other purposes.
If you choose to attend all three terms throughout the year, this is what you will be learning in each term:

Term 2: We study societal changes, migration, health and fitness trends and holidays. Learners acquire a deeper understanding of the structure of the language and culture through speaking, listening, reading and writing. All four skill areas are further developed. The focus remains on speaking and listening activities, to enable the learners to improve conversational German and be able to use language effectively in a range of contexts. In terms of grammar, we study ordinal numbers, the Imperfect Subjunctive (II) and how to ask and express opinions.
Term 3: We study environmental issues, different forms of media and understand business etiquette and culture. The term builds on prior knowledge enabling greater fluency of the topics. All four skills continue to be developed and the new grammar points are the Past Perfect Tense, and the Subjunctive (I) with Indirect Speech.

Please read the other sections of this guide, including 'What I need to bring' and 'Any other information'.
