AAT Manual Bookkeeping Accounts - Level 1 Award
Full Course Description:
No prior accounting knowledge is required as this qualification will give you a solid background in single entry bookkeeping.

This is a basic entry-level qualification. Access to Bookkeeping introduces the role of a bookkeeper and simple bookkeeping techniques. You will understand financial transactions, the process of customer/supplier transactions and receipts and payments. We aim to provide learners with a fundamental understanding of the principles of basic bookkeeping in the context of manual accounts systems which will help you progress with computerised systems.

AAT qualifications are recognised by employers as practical and technical qualifications that prepare students for the world of work and working specifically within accountancy and finance roles.

This course is suitable for anyone who wants to understand basic bookkeeping either for their own business or change their career paths. You should have a Level 2 qualification in Maths and some good basic computer knowledge. If you require support with either your Maths or Computing skills Flexible Learning Centres can support you with this.
If you have a criminal record or have been made bankrupt, AAT may not accept you as a member meaning you would not be able to sit your exams. Please note, spent convictions or road traffic offences dealt with via a fixed penalty notice do not have to be declared. . You will be required to purchase
a book which the tutor will give details of at your first session. You may need to pay £44 AAT
course registration at the start of your course with AAT.

This is an online course that will be delivered via Zoom, so please ensure that you can access this on the device you are using. You will receive details and joining instructions on how to access the course shortly before the start date by email.

You will need to join Zoom five minutes before your session is due to start and remain in the “waiting room”. Your tutor will then admit you to the class once your session is ready to begin.
