Latin - an Introduction
Given that the learning process can go beyond a practical purpose, is Latin really a dead language? It is true that it is not learnt and spoken by children in schools as a first language. So, apparently, yes, it is a dead language. Nevertheless it is certainly not extinct, as it still lives in its Romance variations throughout the world: Italian, Spanish, French, etc…

A basic understanding of Latin will give you the key to a better understanding of your native language, be it English or any other languages, and thus to an enhanced communication. You will be able to understand how a language works and therefore to feel more confident when it comes to get across a message, in written or spoken word.

In this course we will learn what nouns, adjectives, adverbs and verbs are, as well as the difference between declension and conjugation. Plus, every Latin course comes with interesting sections on Roman background, culture and civilisation, to see how this apparently dead language used to be very alive.

At the end of this 5-hour course you will have a basic understanding of what Latin really is, together with some basic vocabulary and sentences
