Yoga - Wake up and Stretch
Early morning beginners Hatha yoga to introduce you to the basic principles, helping to focus the mind, release tension and enable you to feel more supple, stretched, relaxed and AWAKE!

This early morning class is designed to set you up for your day ahead. If you’re too busy to attend an evening or daytime class then this may be perfect for you and be a great start to your day. The physical and mental health benefits of yoga are well known.

Yoga can take you on your own individual journey activating both the physical body and the mind. We will explore the practice of asana (postures) through tutor demonstration and guidance, learn breathing techniques, concentration/meditation and relaxation, helping to focus the mind, release tension and enable you to feel more supple and relaxed – a great start to the day!

This course is suitable for all levels and ideal for beginners / people with no experience of Yoga, however, a general level of health & fitness is desirable. Prosp User 4
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a non-stick yoga mat (approx. £10 from most retail outlets) and a blanket/extra sweater for relaxation sessions.

Please make sure you have a suitable space available to exercise in, where you will be able to see your screen easily and safely.

This is an online course that will be delivered via Zoom, so please ensure that you can access this on the device you are using.
You will receive your Zoom login details in an email that is sent out 24 hours before the course is due to start. (Please note, if you enrol less than 24 hours before a course starts, you will receive your zoom code as soon as you enrol.) Please keep your Zoom code safe as you will need the same code for each class.

You will need to join Zoom five minutes before your session is due to start and remain in the “waiting room”. Your tutor will then admit you to the class once your session is ready to begin.

If you require help to download or use Zoom, please email ictskills@york.gov.uk at least a week before your course starts and we will endeavour to provide assistance.
