Time for You: Effective Communication ("That's not what I meant!")
“That’s not what I meant” - The ability to communicate effectively is an essential skill. To feel we have communicated well and to know we have made ourselves clear and understandable and that the other person(s) knows what we need or want, is not often easy.

Over time we can cultivate our skills in communicating effectively and eventually develop succinct and meaningful conversations that can support us through life.
We will explore various aspects that can enhance our communications using discussions, feedback, and exercises.

We will briefly analyse, how to really listen, and to show we have understood. We can enhance our skills in asking questions and providing meaningful feedback, to be clear and precise in our speech, without causing offence, to clarify and summarise what we really mean, and recognise our non-verbal signals and how they can be interpreted. Learning to show greater empathy and developing greater trust through rapport and keeping present in our situations and interactions will enhance our exchanges.

In contrast a brief exploration will be carried out to notice barriers to communicating effectively and their effects. Such as judging, not paying attention, using jargon, offering unwanted advice, and not acknowledging others. Will all give us a greater perception of how to communicate more effectively.
