Time for You: Sleep Well
Sleep well - An exploration of the world of sleep and tips on how to sleep better at any age.

We spend around one third of our lives sleeping, but many people find it difficult to fall and stay asleep.

Sleep is essential for health and welling and many of us will have experienced the consequences of a poor night’s sleep – feeling grumpy, unable to concentrate and lacking in energy. But, sleep is also essential for a healthy, active life and sleep ‘loss’ can affect our mind and body in many ways, contributing to obesity and many other conditions.

This course will help you understand why we sleep and give you the tools to help you sleep well. We will look at the benefits of a good night’s sleep and how it changes at different stages of life. Using this knowledge, we will be able to assess our own sleep quality and work towards improving our own sleep quality and help others suffering from the effects of insufficient, or interrupted sleep.

At the end of the first session, you will be provided with a questionnaire to monitor your sleep. This will be followed in the second session, with information on ‘sleep hygiene’ and tips on how to improve your sleep, including information on some of the common disturbances that can affect a good night’s sleep. Using tools, such as breathing techniques to prepare for sleep, you will be able to create your own sleep well plan and improve your sleep, contributing to your physical and mental health and wellbeing and experiencing the bliss of sleeping well!
