Summer Festival: Jive & Rock n Roll Dancing
Join us for our Summer Festival classes to keep you learning. We didn’t want to leave you bored over the summer and yearning for your learning, so we’ve decided to hold a Summer Festival where you can continue your favourite class with your favourite tutor or even try something new!

Come along and join us for a short Beginners Social Jive and Rock ‘n’ Roll course.

Dancers will learn the basics of jive incorporating some rock ‘n’ roll. The class will learn a new figure each week to create a short routine, with the opportunity to attempt more complex steps if you like.

By the end of the course you should be able to recognise appropriate jive music, dance in time to music, incorporate several figures into a routine and either lead or follow an un-choreographed routine.
Perfect for jiving the summer away at BBQs, in the kitchen or even on holiday (if you can!)

Please make sure you have a suitable space available to exercise in, where you will be able to see your screen easily and safely.

Please ensure you are wearing comfortable footwear – avoid heavy shoes or too high a heel. Music will be used in the class so please ensure you can hear this on whatever device you are using.
Participants are advised to ensure
(i) they have enough room to participate in the activity without there being any obvious risk of injury to themselves, to others or risk of any damage to surrounding property.
(ii) that the flooring in the room is safe for the activity to be undertaken.

As this class is delivered via Zoom it means the tutor will be able to provide less direct feedback than in a face to face class – please be vigilant and listen to technique guidance so as to prevent injury.
