Initial Assessment for Functional Skills English Courses
The Initial Assessment is a 1-1 meeting with an English tutor, which will be conducted online using Zoom (a video call). You will be emailed an invitation to the meeting the day before and you will just need to use the link and follow some simple instructions to join your tutor in the call.
The assessment will last approximately 30 minutes. Your tutor will chat to you about how you use English skills in your daily life and why you want to improve them. You will then complete a short writing assessment, in front of your tutor. On completion of the assessment you will need to take a photograph of your work (making sure it can be clearly read) and email the photo to your tutor for marking and feedback. Your tutor will then discuss your class options and confirm your next steps.
