Master class - Knife Skills
At this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to fillet a round fish, and skin a flat fish. You will make one fish dish of your choice to cook at home - either sea bass, mackerel or salmon trout. You will then create a dish with a ginger, coriander, chilli and spring onion topping where you will chop the herbs finely by pivoting the knife. Or, for a flat fish you will chop the parsley and tomatoes to go into a white sauce to make at home. You will bone a chicken and make a Galantine to cook at home, and finish off by creating a couple of garnishes to decorate your food The tutor will offer expert advice and give you handy tips and ideas to help you perfect your skills.

You will gain the skills and confidence to improve your knife skills to prepare a variety of dishes. You will have a set of recipes that you can take away and practice your skills at home!

This course is suitable for beginners or intermediate cooks wishing to learn or perfect specific skills.

Please bring an apron, a filleting knife, chopping knife and small vegetable knife, dishcloth, 2 tea towels and containers to take your food home in. You will need to bring your own ingredients each week. The estimated cost of ingredients for this workshop will be approx £12 - £15 depending on your choice of recipes

Please note that Fulford School is a nut-free zone so please do not bring nuts in your ingredients.
