How to Paint in Colour - all mediums
This one-day course will focus on our use of colour in painting, giving you the knowledge and confidence to mix the colours you want. We’ll begin by looking at how to set out your paints, and what the key colours are to have in your kit. You’ll learn how to make your own dark shades and greys without using black and we’ll practice mixing colours to create a range of tints and shades. We’ll learn about limited pallets and how we only need two or three colours to create a complete painting. Importantly you’ll learn how to plan your colours before painting and how this can really improve your work. Throughout the day you’ll have lots of one-to-one guidance from an experienced artist-tutor and work on a series of colour studies that you’ll take home. By the end of the day you’ll have developed a solid understanding of how to mix the colours you want, how to plan colours effectively and have the confidence to experiment and enjoy using colour in your paintings.
