Getting Online & Digital Basics - Digital Skills for Work
A fun course for absolute beginners wishing to learn about how to use the computer, the Internet and send emails whilst gaining a qualification to improve your employment prospects.
You will learn the basics of using a computer, how to use the keyboard and mouse, how to get onto the internet and how to receive and send emails.
You will use and recognise a computer system, including the desktop and where to find documents, as well as understand and identify common tools within browsers. You will learn to recognise icons, use scroll bars, menus and understand the difference from typing in a web address to typing in a search request. You will also be shown how to keep up to date with keeping yourself safe online.
At the end of this course you will be able to access and browse the internet safely and understand the process of emails. You will receive a BCS Computing Award In Computer and Online Basics.

This course runs through the school holidays on 21st February.
