B3155T1-Pilates Beginners
This basic introduction to Pilates is designed to help you improve your mobility, flexibility and strength.
This course is for individuals who have little or no experience in Pilates to improve their posture, balance and alignment of the body. You will learn to demonstrate posture ‘set-up’, how to engage the pelvic floor muscles and Thoracic breathing, along with the principles of Pilates which are concentration, control, centre, flow, precision and breathing. Students are taught to use the “powerhouse”. The powerhouse is the centre of the body and when strengthened, it offers a solid foundation for any movement. This class will focus on core strength and train the body as an integrated whole. You will improve strength and balance muscle development through Pilates exercise, as well as improving flexibility and increased range of motion for your joints. You will be introduced to Pilates at a beginner level and exercises will progress as the course continues dependant upon individual ability.
