B3121T1-Festive Fayre - Edible Christmas Treats
A hands-on workshop where you will create a selection of extravagances to give as gifts or simply keep for you and your guests to eat over the Christmas period.
Explore the tradition of giving hand crafted foodie gifts – which can be almost as simple to make as to buy. Better still you may want to keep them for yourself or share them at the Christmas table! Your tutor will guide you through making a selection from delicious home-made treats such as brandy snaps and Florentines, praline logs and Christmas pudding truffles, Morbidi or soft Amoretti biscuits, coconut ice, iced gingerbread biscuits, chocolate shortbread wreaths, and minted meringue shells. The course will provide students with the inspiration to develop their own ideas and use their new found skills to create exciting treats and gifts for years to come.
You will gain the skills and ideas for baking and making some tasty treats which will be ideal to give as gifts. You will have learnt some techniques that you can apply to other recipes, and be given further ideas of how to produce and wrap home-made gifts.
